Sweet Chili Salmon

This sweet chili salmon is a quick and flavorful salmon dinner with a sticky sweet, savory, and lightly spicy sauce that is perfect for busy weeknights.

Equipment

Ingredients 

  • 1.5 pounds salmon filets skinless, cut into 1.5-inch wide pieces
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Freshly cracked black pepper
  • ½ cup Thai sweet chili sauce store-bought or homemade (see recipe notes)
  • 3 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • ¼ cup water
  • Chopped green onions

Instructions

  • Pat the salmon dry, then season evenly with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, sriracha, and water until combined. Set aside.
    ½ cup Thai sweet chili sauce, 3 tablespoon soy sauce, 2 cloves garlic, 1 teaspoon minced ginger, 1 teaspoon sriracha, ¼ cup water
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a little oil. Place the salmon in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes until lightly golden, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the salmon is cooked through.
  • During the last 1-2 minutes, pour the sweet chili sauce over the salmon, cover, and let it simmer until the sauce slightly thickens and coats the fish.
  • Serve over rice with your favorite veggies and finish with chopped green onions.
