What is a Dumpling Bake?
A dumpling bake (also called a baked dumpling or one pan dumpling bake) features dumplings baked right in a rich, flavorful sauce instead of steamed or pan-fried. This viral dumpling bake recipe blends the creaminess of coconut milk with the bold flavors of Thai red curry paste, peanut butter, soy sauce, and a hint of lime for brightness.

It’s like a cozy casserole that fuses Asian flavors with modern one-pan simplicity. No need for multiple pots or pans—just mix, bake, and serve. Perfect for when you want something quick, comforting, and absolutely irresistible.

How to Make Dumpling Bake (Viral One Pan Recipe)
Make the Sauce
In a 9x13-inch baking dish, whisk together the coconut milk, chicken broth, red curry paste, peanut butter, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, fish sauce, honey, lime juice, and sesame oil until smooth and well combined.
Add the Vegetables
Stir in the spinach and sliced mushrooms so everything is evenly coated in that rich curry sauce.
Arrange the Dumplings
Place the frozen potstickers or gyozas into the sauce in a single layer, making sure they’re not overlapping.
Spoon a bit of sauce over the top to coat them lightly.
Bake It
Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 27–32 minutes, or until the dumplings are tender and cooked through.
Remove the foil in the last 5 minutes to help the tops get slightly crispy and golden.
Garnish and Serve the Dumpling Bake
Top with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and a drizzle of chili oil. Serve hot with steamed white rice for the ultimate cozy and easy meal.

Storage
Store any leftover dumpling bake in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave until warm.
Tips To Make the Perfect Dumpling Bake
- Use Full-Fat Coconut Milk: It gives you that thick, creamy texture that makes the sauce irresistible.
- Don’t Overcrowd the Pan: Keep the dumplings in a single layer without touching so they cook evenly and don’t get soggy.
- Remove the Foil at the End: Those last 5 minutes uncovered help the dumplings crisp up perfectly.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do I need to defrost the dumplings first?
Nope! You can use them straight from the freezer.
What kind of dumplings work best?
I found that potstickers or gyozas are ideal for this baked dumpling recipe because their wrappers are thinner and cook beautifully in the sauce. If you use dumplings with a thicker wrapper, just bake for a little longer.
What vegetables can I add?
Try spinach, bok choy, zucchini, mushrooms, or shredded carrots for extra flavor and texture in your one pan dumpling bake.
How do I get the dumplings extra crispy?
Remove the foil during the last 5 minutes of baking so the tops can brown and crisp up nicely.
Can I make the sauce ahead of time?
Yes! Mix the sauce ingredients up to a day in advance and store it in the fridge until you’re ready to bake. This makes cooking dinner even easier!

This was so easy and SO GOOD! I was sitting outside the grocery this morning trying to figure out meals and this popped up and I wanted to give it a try (I’m pregnant and it can be really hit or miss with me). Well I had most of the ingredients and forgot to add the extra toppings at the end. Totally Delicious and Amazing. I added a little more peanut butter because I knew I wanted it more peanutty. This will join the rotation. Also, cleanup was easy!

I'm so happy you loved this recipe Heather! I like it peanutty too so adding more PB sounds perfect 🙂

This was incredible, especially for how easy it is. I knew I wouldn't have much time or energy to cook last night and this seemed like the perfect recipe. It was! Made it as written. Used crunchy only-nuts-and-salt pb. My husband asked me what else I could use the sauce on, he loved it so much. He usually adds sriracha to everything, but he didn't need it for this. So flavorful! Will be on regular rotation this winter.
